LAKELAND, Australia –A man was arrested in June after he allegedly conspired to have sex with a woman at a bar in the western Australian city of Perth.
According to a police report, the suspect, who was believed to be a Chinese man, allegedly made and sold “female Viagra” to other men for $40. “He also offered to buy the female Viagra and later agreed to pay the price of $20 per pill,” the report states. “At that point, he was walking towards the bar, and a female member of the bar, a middle-aged man in his mid-fifties, asked for the female Viagra and offered to take the pills.”
Police found the suspect’s cell phone and other documents showing the alleged “female Viagra” and the alleged “Viagra for women” to the man’s home. They believe he had a deal to buy the female Viagra for him from a Chinese woman.
A statement from the Perth Police Department says the suspect, who was identified as 27-year-old Katerina S. Katerina, also conspired to commit an offence for which he could not be arrested and to have sex.
A spokesperson for the Department of Social and Professional Affairs, which is responsible for policing Australia, said it is not aware of any arrests being made related to the alleged “Viagra for women”.
“We are working closely with the Department of Social and Professional Affairs to identify those that may have been arrested and prosecuted,” it said.
“In any case, we cannot comment on individual arrests, but we are taking action and will initiate an investigation to help ensure the safety of the Australian women and children.”
Police have so far seized over 1,300 Australian women and children in connection with the alleged “Viagra for women”.
